Q: How do I enter a normal result to North-South and a 12C1c ruling to East-West?

  • Example:
    • NS: 3NT +2 by EW
    • EW: 50% 3NT -2 by EW
    • EW: 50% 3NT +2 by EW

A: Unfortunately that is impossible to do automatically. Magic can do split scores, or 12C1c, but not at the same time.

The solution is to calculate the awarded matchpoints for each ruling and enter those matchpoints as an exact score using the following syntax:

=12.5 / =43.8

The easiest way to figure out what scores to enter is to enter the normal result, print a score recap and take a note of the matchpoints, then enter the 12C1c ruling, take a note of the matchpoints, and then enter the two matchpoints according to above.
